Hambo Hoedown “What’s the News” Card

I am entering this card in the Hambo Hoedown challenge “What’s the News” at: http://hambochallenges.blogspot.com/2011/10/whats-news.html If you have never tried a Hambo Hoedown challenge, here is how it works:    They give EVERYONE a free digi image (see below).  There will be a theme for the challenge, and you can either use the free digi image they give you, or any other Hambo stamps to make a card that fits the challenge theme. The challenge will run for one week.  At the end of the week, one winner will be chosen from a random drawing of all the participants, that person will win his/her pick of a free digi image from our digital store.
But wait - there's more!  EVERY person who played in the challenge will be emailed another new digi image, which can be used for the next weeks challenge. The image will be offered free to all who participated the previous week, and then put on the website for sale once the free ones are distributed. Again, you'll be able to use that new image for the next weeks challenge, OR you can use any other Hambo stamp (rubber or digital).
This cycle will continue each week, so as long as you continue to participate in the challenges, the more free digis you'll rack up.  If you miss a week, you can either purchase that week's digi image to get back into the loop, or you can work with another Hambo stamp, as long as you are loyal to that week's theme.
The challenges will change weekly, so one week might be a "theme" (i.e. "wildlife), one week might be a color combination, or a sketch, or have an embellishment requirement, etc. so there should be something to interest everyone at some point.

So what are you waiting for there are two free images to choose from here: http://hambostamps.com/freebies/.  So as they say “Get you’re dancing shoes on, it’s time for the Hoedown”.

I used:
Off white cardstock
Spellbinders – Fancy Tags
Double stick tape
Dimensional tape
Hambo Hoedown image - "Newscaster"
Free Clip Art
EK Success - Oval Punch

I am so super excited to have gained another new follower.  Thanks to Anika for joining!  Will you be the next one?  I hope so!!!  Please leave me a comment before you leave.  Have a very blessed day.

“Pine Branch Christmas Tree” Card

I have seen pictures of this punch used for Christmas trees but this is my first time doing it.  Not hard but it did take about 40 "Pine Branch" punches and I do not have the one you squeeze.  I cut a basic tree shape and then went to town filling it in with the pine branches.  I of course had to bling it up so I used pearls and jewels and a bow for the top.  I started off wanting to make a white one but once I saw the designer paper I was going to use I changed my mind.  Maybe the next one will be a white one.   I am entering this in DYSU (Do You Stack Up) challenge at: http://doyoustackup.blogspot.com/2011/10/dysu-challenge-42-trees.html   The challenge is “Trees” so I think this fits.

I used:
McGill – Pine Branch
EK Success – Corner Punch
Green, Red and White card stock
Double stick tape
Dimensional tape
Paper from – K I Memories – “Holiday Fun Paper Pad”
Paper from – K & Company “Best of Brenda Walton” for trunk of tree
Offray – Jewels (clear and pink)
Queen & Co - Pearls

I am super excited that I have gained a new follower.  Thanks to Tammy for joining!  Will you be the next one?  I hope so!!!  Please leave me a comment before you leave.  Have a very blessed day.
