Animals Rule Challenge

Dustin Pike has another challenge going on over at dustinpike.blogspot.com/2011/07/challenge-animals-rule.html.  Go over and visit him, he also has a freebie so you might want to check that out.  Okay, my entry for the “Animals Rule” challenge is my very first rocker card.  I used markers to color Dustin’s ark image, “Stickles” diamond glitter, black card stock from “Recollections”, two pennies, “this to that” 3-dimenional foam dots, and the background was a image on the web.  I used the banner die cut from “Sizzix” and a stamp that say’s REJOICE!  I can’t believe it rocks back and forth like it is really on the waves, so cool!

Flower Pot Card and Bee Spinner Card

Tomorrow is card class and I will be teaching the ladies a spinner card (below) and a flower pot card (also below).

The flower pot card was made with brown card stock, yellow heavy construction paper for the flowers and left over brown for the center of each flower.  The punches I used were “McGill Fancy Label”, the Whale 1 3/8 in circle punch from “Paper Shapers”, leaves from “Family Treasures” and Martha Stewart’s lace boarder punch.   A bit of white ribbon from “Offray”, “Stickles” star dust and the butterfly image is from abcteach.com.

The spinner card was made using Beccy’s freebie bee, at beccysplace.blogspot.com.  He is just so cute with those glasses.  I used freebie flowers from GTC at gtc-craftycorner.blogspot.com.   The background is a blue textured card stock from “Mat Stack” (DCWV) and a black card stock from “Recollections”.   I used a black marker to make the bee trail and cut out the slot for the spinner with a craft knife.  Of course I used “Stickles” star dust.    Used round and square “this to that” 3-dimensional foam dots a bunch.  The word art I made in Microsoft Word using “Bertram Let” font.    This is my fourth spinner card and I think it is the smoothest one.   Not sure what I did different but I love it.  I recommend making lots of spinner cards, they are fun to make and they have that WOW factor when someone receives one.

Vacation Bible School

This past week at our church was our Vacation Bible School.  Our theme this year was “Pandamania” and there were pandas everywhere.  Dustin Pike was so great to make up a set of Pandas.  Each day there was a bible point and each day the children were given one of Dustin’s pandas to write on and tell how they see God working in their lives then place on the board.  We were looking for the “Lost” pandas all week.
Thank you Dustin for your hard work, they were just what we needed for the kids.  The kids love, love, loved them.  THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.
 Below are the boards.

"Hot and Bothered" Challenge

“Hot and Bothered” was a great challenge!  I used Dustin’s “Hedge Roast FB” because he is so cute.  I also used his “Mellows SB” inside the card.  The cracker and chocolate I found on the web.  Used Stickles glitter on the fire, marshmallow bag, heart and dots around the scalloped circle Nestabilities die.  I also rounded off the marshmallow inside the S’mores.   Colored it with Fibra markers and used computer generated sentiment inside.   This card is going out in the mail tomorrow to my brother in-law, I hope he likes it.  So visit Dustin at his blog at dustinpike.blogspot.com/2011/07/challenge-hot-and-bothered.html and join the challenge, there is still time.

Leave me a comment and let me know what you think.  I love hearing from you!
