This is my first time entering a challenge at Hambo http://hambochallenges.blogspot.com/2011/09/ah-crisp-air-of-autumn.html The challenge was to use hues of fall and I hope I achieved that with “Wee Henry Bongo”.

I used paper got off the net, leaf punches from McGill and Marvy, Spellbinders – Fancy Tags, Oval Scallop and Label One.  Had a great time, hope to do more challenges in the future.  Thanks for letting me play along.

Get Well Card - "Yummy in My Tummy" Challenge

This is a get well card for a sick friend.  I know this will cheer up a friend of mine who is feeling a bit under the weather.  I saw an image on the web somewhere and sometime back of making a card to look like a can of soup.  Wanted to use Dustin Pike’s Chicken in a pot (Marday26B) in fact I liked it so much I had to use it twice.  I hope it looks enough like a can of soup to pass.  Not sure if I am going to put this in a gift basket with soup, bowl, spoon and tissues or not.  Guess we will see.  :-}
I am entering this card in the “Yummy in My Tummy” Challenge over at Dustin Pike’s.  You only have a couple of hours to enter so get over there and check it out.  It is loads of fun and you get loads of inspiration from the DT Team.  You can find his challenge here:   http://dustinpike.blogspot.com/2011/08/challenge-yummy-in-my-tummy.html

Used:
Dustin Pikes digi stamp – MarDay26B
Computer generated word art
Stickles – Star dust around outer scallop circle
Nestabilities Circle Scallops
Dimensional tape to raise the can off card
White and Red card stock

"Yummy In My Tummy" - Challenge

Halloween is just around the corner and when I was going through Dustin’s images the Carmel Apple just jumped out at me so I am entering this card in the Pikes Peak Challenge “Yummy in my Tummy”.  You can check it out here:  http://dustinpike.blogspot.com/2011/08/challenge-yummy-in-my-tummy.html   There is still time to enter so go check it out.  Love Candy apples, Carmel apples and Chocolate dipped apples.  What’s not to love, right?  I had to place those spooky eyes of Dustin’s on his lovely Apples.

Used:
Dustin Pikes – Carmel apple and spooky eyes
Martha Stewart’s ooey gooey punch
Stickles stardust – on the apple highlights and green goo
Computer generated words.
Dimensional tape to pop up the apples twice
Glossy accents from inkssentials (I have never used it before but I am a big
fan now.  Love how the apples are so glossy.)

Hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it.  Please leave me a comment I love hearing from you.

Challenge - Yummy in My Tummy

Dustin Pike has a challenge going on over at his blog http://dustinpike.blogspot.com/2011/08/challenge-yummy-in-my-tummy.html  you should really go check it out plus he has goodies for sale and a freebie.  I am entering this card in his challenge.  I love the saying “Carpe’ Laganum” Seize the Cupcake.  Good advice no matter what.  I will have a list of items used at the bottom of this post.  Interesting getting this card made since we had hurricane Irene barrel her way through.  Hope everyone is over its affects.

As you can see the cupcake has 4 layers but the tape I used is not as thick as I am use to.  Not as dramatic as I wanted it but still pretty happy.

Items Used:
Background paper from: My Mind’s Eye – Bloom & Grow
Images from Dustin: Dino Cupcake & Dragonfly
Fibra color markers
Sparkle Gel pens to highlight
Stickles Stardust for: nails, tail, teeth, belly, spine and outline of sign
EK Success Oval punch
Queen & company rhinestones – Red Gem
Dimensional tabs
EK Success corner punch
Brown card stock

I hope you like what you see.  Leave me a message and become a follower on my blog, I Love hearing from each of you.

Dustin Pkes "Button it" Challenge

Another week another challenge over at http://dustinpike.blogspot.com/2011/08/challenge-button-up.html  Plus he has some great digi’s on sale.  I really enjoyed making this card.  I love the colors and the image of the bear fairy is just precious.  I am not sure but I don’t think I have ever used buttons on my cards so I had fun looking through my sewing stuff for some to use.  I also found my Fiskars texture plates and used the Filigree one to emboss the corner pieces.  If you have time you should join the challenge.  Great projects from the DT members, they inspire us to do better.

Used:
6 buttons from my stash
Pink card stock
Black card stock
Paper from K&Company
Bearfairy image from Dustin Pike
Foam tape
Markers
Colored pencils
Glitter gel pens
DMC floss
Fiskars Texture plate (Filigree)

Hope you like my card, not sure who will get this one but I hope they love it as much as I do.

Thanks for stopping by and please leave me a comment, I love hearing from you.

Dustin Pikes “Girl Power” Challenge

My second post of the day!  I am joining the challenge over at Dustin Pike’s “Girl Power" http://dustinpike.blogspot.com/2011/07/challenge-girl-power.html.
Had fun making this for a lady from my church who went out west to visit some family for a little bit.  I made this card with two of Dustin’s Fairy images, “FarieGirl1 and FarieGirl2”.  Colored the images using “Fibra” markers and used “K & company” “Best of Brenda Walton” paper.  Of course I used a bit of “Stickles Stardust”, some word art from my computer and a lace punch from “Martha Stewart”.  I used foam tape to pop up the word art a bit to give it some dimension.

Please leave me a comment, I would love to hear from you.

“Pay It Forward” Gifties

I am one of the very lucky bloggers that signed up over at starlightscrapper.blogspot.com for the” pay it forward 2011.”  Yesterday in the mail I received a beautifully wrapped box of goodies.  Almost too pretty to open, but I tore into it.  I have asked Denni if I could post what she sent me and she has given me permission.  YEA, you get to see the wonderful gifties.
First she made me a card with what I think is a “bugaboo stamp” on it (Cute!) with a handmade envelope that said “For You”.

Second I opened up four glass nugget magnets.  I have made these before but not this nice.  As you can see they are gorgeous!   I wonder what kind of glue she uses.  When I have made mine in the past I used “Aleene’s Tacky glue”.   When I made my first ones I thought all had gone wrong since you could not see the picture all you could see was glue, but as it dried little by little the picture came through.

Next up (Yep, there’s more), I opened up 4 stunning hand crocheted flowers.  They look like lace and so delicate.  How cute are these.  She said they would be great with a button or fancy brads in the center.  I look forward t using them soon.

Okay you would think that was it but NO, there is more (can you believe all the great goodies?) I saw this on her blog and loved it.  It is no secret that I LOVE Dustin Pike’s images and this next item had lots of them, 12 to be exact.  She made me a 2012 calendar with a different image for each month.  They all sit nicely in a mini cd case.  How cute are these?

So make sure you go over to starlightscrapper.blogspot.com and check out all of Denni’s posts.  She has wonder projects and does such gorgeous work.  Thanks again Denni for my gifties, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them all.
Please leave me a comment; I love to hear from you.
