“Parrot” Plant Stake







This is my DT project for OSAAT (One Stitch At A Time), the challenge this week is "Anything Goes" at:  http://onestitchatatimechallenge.blogspot.com/

Besides having fun with Barbara's image I got back into Shrink Plastic.  I have not played with it since I was young (okay too long ago to talk about).  How great it is now that I can play with it on my desk and not melt it in the oven.  I just used my handy dandy embossing heat gun.  Of course it flew off my desk a couple times but it was so much fun to watch.  I punched out the butterfly image and colored it, shrunk it and added stickles.  This will not be my last time playing with shrink plastic.  :-)

Top Tip - When working with shrink plastic and a embossing heat gun, it is best to have a scribe or tweezers handy to hold down the plastic.  Also not every marker will work on shrink plastic.  I found permanent markers work well and the color comes out strong.

    Totally awesome project. I would never have thought of using a digi to do this type of project! And I've never used shrink plastic... will have to try it out. Fabulous coloring!

    Fabulous creation and so pleased you had fun with your shrink plastic! If you sand it with a buffing block you can use water colour pencils and distress inks too!
