Dustin Pike's Challenge - Red, White and Blue

Hi everyone!  Okay, I say it every time but this card was so much fun to work on.  I saw a Triple Easel Card over at http://www.docrafts.com/ .   Well I wanted to make one but I also wanted to make a Flower Pot Card.  Never trying either before I thought why not both at once.  I joined the Challenge over at Dustin Pike’s   http://dustinpike.blogspot.com/2011/06/challenge-red-white-and-blue.html , Red White and Blue.   He has the best Challenges and images!  Go over and check his site out and enter the contest.

I hope Dustin does not mind but I cut the head off his free image “FB050411B” and placed it in the middle of his other image “Peeking”.  I just wanted the little guy to be looking forward.

Here is the list of supplies:
Images – Dustin Pike’s “Peeking” and “FB050411B” plus some free wall
     paper from Whitney Caroline
Spellbinders Nestabilities Scalloped Ovals
Martha Stewart’s Punch around the page “Vintage Lace”
Card Stock – red, white and blue
Fibracolor Markers – Black, Blue, Red and Green
Offray Ribbon
Stickles “Star Dust” glitter
Dimensional Dots
Word Processor generated “Happy Birthday” and
Scotch tape to hold it together

It lays flat to mail.  What I love is you pull the flower out and you have room now for a note on each.  I will have fun coming up with stamps and sayings for inside.  Not sure who I am sending it to, I hope they like it.

Leave a comment and let me know what you think!

It's a Boy Thing - Pyramid Card

WOW!  This card was so much fun.  I have never made a Triangle or Pyramid card.  My husband calls it a Star Trek card because it looks like the insignia on their shirts.  It looks hard but is very simple to make.  I am entering this card in the "It's a boy thing" over at Dustin Pike's blog.  You should check his site out at http://dustinpike.blogspot.com/2011/06/challenge-its-boy-thing.html  That is a direct link to the challenge.  You may want to make a card and enter.

I used three 6x6 pieces of card stock folded in half diagonally and you layer them one on the other.  I used Dustin Pike images (of course).  The images I used are basketball Dudley "BBdragon", Football Dudley "Pass", Scoccer Dudley "Firekick" and Sports Frame "SPframe".  I colored the images using Fibracolor markers 01, 07, 18, 19, 45, 46, 64, 84, 91 and 100.

The paper I used was light blue card stock for the card base and a wonderful green from "Blooms & Grow" paper.  Spellbinder Nestabilities Classic Scalloped Oval was used as well as Nestabilities Classic Oval.  I used McGill "Fancy label" punch for the oval words.  The outer oval I had to hand cut since I did not have a punch for it (maybe next trip to the craft store).  I used Scotch tape to hold it all together.  Words are computer generated.

Next time I make a card like this I will make it 5x5 so it will fit in a regular envelope.  I will have to make a special one for this card and with all the card stock I will need a bit of extra postage since it is right at the limit now.  I know the postage and envelope will put it over the top.  So go and make yourself a Triangle / Pyramid card.  I promise you will love it!

As you can see it folds flat to mail.  Leave me a comment and tell me what kind of card you made
or let me know how your Triangle / Pyramid card came out.

Panda Cake

I made this cake for my church's bake sale and cake raffle tomorrow.  First time using this mold, I think it came out really well.  Our Vacation Bible School is going to be panda themed (Pandamania) so I though I would give it a go.

Let me know what you think!  Thanks for stopping by.

DYSU Challenge #21 - Animals

I am placing this anniversary card in the DYSU challenge Animals.  I hope it fits their theme.  Love those stinking skunks from Dusin Pike.  I colored them with pencils this time.  I used Black, White and Red card stock, Martha Stewart's amazing punch and my nestabilities scallop and circle die, plus some gems and glitter for sparkle.  The saying was generated on my computer "Your love... Is heaven scent"  (How cute huh?).  I hope you all enjoy.  Thanks for stoping by and I hope you come back real soon.  By the way DYSU is also looking for a couple of DT members.  Wish me luck.

Go see DYSU and join in the fun.

Pike's Playground Challenge Time - Shades of Green

I love Dustin's challenges!  Shades of Green was a hoot.  I used his Chameleon and Vine images.  Found the saying on the net and used two of Martha Stewart's boarder punches.  I hope everyone enjoys the card.  I did not show the inside but I think "but it's better then being blue".  Leave me a comment, and tell me what you think.

Go visit Dustin at his blog and join the challenge.

Pay It Forward 2011

Today is Denni's birthday and to celebrate it she is participating in a wonderful little blog project called... Pay It Forward 2011!

She read about it while visiting Linda's amazing blog The Funkie Junkie and knew instantly it was the perfect way of celebrating - sharing friendship, inspiration and creativity all while "paying it forward."

Here's how it works....the first five people who comment on this blog post will receive a handmade gift from me.  In return, you must FIRST write a blog post explaining Pay It Forward 2011. Then.... send out a handmade gift to the first five visitors who leave a comment.

You can take your time, they don't all have to be sent today or tomorrow, and it's not the size or value of the gift but the lovely spirit of Pay it Forward.

This is such a great way to connect with friends or make new ones, all while sharing the things we create with our hearts and hands!  Visit Denni over at starlightscrapper.blogspot.com.
I commented on Denni's page so who will be the first five to comment on mine?  Will it be you?  Hope so!

Challenge - Dudley and His Power Wheels

I always have so much fun working with Dustin's images.  I am entering this in  Dustin Pike's "Dudley and His Power Wheels" Challenge.  Dudley is so much fun to play with.  I will be sending this card out to my dad in a couple months.  I used this great paper that I downloaded and used for the first time ever the paper fasteners that I recently got in the mail.  Love the saying I believe it was said by Mark Twain.

Join the fun over at Dustin Pike's challenge

Leave a comment I would love to hear what you think.
